Westport AC was the largest Juvenile Athletics club in Mayo and the eighth largest in Ireland in April 2024, report showing below.
Based on our current juvenile numbers of 407, this would put us as the third largest Juvenile club in Ireland after Dundrum South Dublin AC and Bandon AC Cork, based on their figures in April 2024.
In September 2023 we had 288 juvenile members so a growth of over 40% in one year with total club membership at over 520 and climbing each week.
This growth is in no small part to our wonderful team of coaches who are nurturing our athletes and giving them space to enjoy getting fit in a fun way.
We have also had huge investment in our facilities in Horkan's Hill and are eagerly awaiting a tartan track in the coming months.
We are forever indebted to the generosity and support of so many wonderful businesses and individuals in our Community.

WESTPORT AC Last Sunday January 16th the Woodie’s DIY Novice & Juvenile Uneven Ages Cross Country Championships of Ireland took place in the Charleville Demesne in Tullamore. Westport Athletics Club had a very successful day with its boys U11 team taking the bronze medal in their 1500m race. First in for the team was Patrick Chambers in 13th place followed closely by Cian McAllister in 20th place. Third home was Oisin Moran in 36th position followed by Marley Hoban in 46th. Mark Moran was next, in 64th and Aaron Doherty in 96th. The team substitute was Fiachra Byrne. Overall a superb performance and great experience for the boys. The next race was the U13 Girls 2500m where Sorcha McAllister had one of her best races to date, coming home in an admirable 36th position. Our final Wesport competitor was Con Doherty in the Boys U17 5000m where Con was running out of age and still managed to take 8th position - a fantastic achievement. Congratulations to all our athletes who did us proud.
