 Westport AC Membership update

Westport AC was the largest Juvenile Athletics club in Mayo and the eighth largest in Ireland in April 2024, report showing below.

Based on our current juvenile numbers of 407, this would put us as the third largest Juvenile club in Ireland after Dundrum South Dublin AC and Bandon AC Cork, based on their figures in April 2024.

In September 2023 we had 288 juvenile members so a growth of over 40% in one year with total club membership at over 520 and climbing each week.

This growth is in no small part to our wonderful team of coaches who are nurturing our athletes and giving them space to enjoy getting fit in a fun way.

We have also had huge investment in our facilities in Horkan's Hill and are eagerly awaiting a tartan track in the coming months.

We are forever indebted to the generosity and support of so many wonderful businesses and individuals in our Community.

Posted by Westport Athletic Club on Friday, November 14, 2014,
Westport Athletic Club hosted the 2014 Connacht Uneven Ages Cross Country Champion-ships in the beautiful grounds of Westport House.  The majority of the almost 650 athletes agreed it was a terrific challenging course, and apart from one horrendous shower the weather held up nicely for the day.
A big thank you to Westport House owners and staff for allowing us to use their facilities and providing food and refreshments on the day.

The U11 girls were first into action in the 1500m race. Roisin O...

Today's achievements are nothing short of exceptional. Today Westport athletics club dominated the Connaught cross country championship. Green n red at the cutting edge of almost every race . It is a credit to every athlete regardless of a good race or a poor one (we learn, work , improve and the last will become first) and coaches without whom nothing is possible.
