Connacht Competition U14-Senior Saturday 16th June

Please find attached HERE the provisional timetable for Saturday 16.06.2018

There will be strictly NO spectating or walking across the infield for safety reasons, we will have throws competitions taking place at both ends of the field. Access to the long jump will be via the outside lanes of the track only. 

Please make sure all your athletes are aware of this, clubs are responsible for the supervision of their athletes not the competition officials.

Strictly no footballs, hurleys etc allowed either in the building or around the track, they will be confiscated.

Any personal throwing implements must be signed in by an official.

Connacht Day 1 Teams and U12/13 Results

The FIRST THREE teams for each event for the U9/10/11 including the U9/10/11 Relays qualified  into the National competition which takes place on Sunday 1st July in Tullamore, see the AAI website for the timetable.

We need to know if your team is NOT going by Friday 15th June at the latest.
The U13 Walk and the U12 Hurdles do not progress to National.

U12-U13 the FIRST FOUR individuals (except for 600m, THREE only) qualify into the National Competition...

CONNACHT OUTDOORS TEAMS U9-U11 + U12-U13

Connacht track and field takes place in Claremorris Athletics Facility, Co Mayo on Saturday 9th of June for Teams U9-U11 + U12 and U13s. 

All entries must be given by Friday 1st of June for U12-U13 and Friday the 8th of June for U14-Senior.

Please find attached HERE the order of events for Saturday 9th, it is subject to changes on the day depending on how the programme is going.

Double Joy for O’Brien at All-Ireland Indoors

Saoirse O’Brien rose to the occasion once again to clinch gold and silver medals at the recent All-Ireland Indoor championships in Athlone.  David Marrey took home a gold medal after comfortably winning the boy’s U13 high jump event.  Jack Maher also got in on the act with a hard fought 3rd place finish in the U19 800m.  These impressive performances continues Westport AC’s success at national level.

11 medal haul for Westport AC in Connaught Indoors

Westport athletes took home a total of 7 gold, 3 silver and 1 bronze medal at the recent Connaught Indoor Championships on February 24th and 25th.  This continued the club’s remarkable success in juvenile athletics. The highly impressive indoor arena of AIT hosted these championships.  
The first Westport AC medal of the weekend went to Jack Sweeney who secured the gold medal in the U12 long jump.  However, Jack was not finished there as he also took silver in the high jump.  Great jumping f...

CHANGE OF DATE FOR DAY 1 OF ALL IRELAND INDOORS

Due to forecasted weather events over the next few days, the final day of the Athletics Leinster Juvenile Championships scheduled for AIT Arena this Saturday has been postponed. As this event is a qualifier for the All-Ireland Juvenile Indoors, Athletics Leinster will run their program on the 11th March and Day 1 of the All-Ireland Juvenile Indoor Championships (Relays and older age field events) will now be held on Saturday 7th April.   The program on the 18th and 25th March is unaffected.
