The C & C Cellular Mayo Indoor Athletic Championships were held in Claremorris Athletic track on Sunday. Over five hundred boys and girls competed in over eighty different competitions. Athletes from Achill, Aughagower, Ballina, Castlebar, Claremorris, Lake District, Swinford and Westport competed in an array of athletic disciplines. Competition was very keen with boys and girls vying for podium places. The cold weather did not deter the athletes from having great fun when not competing. Thanks to Claremorris Athletic Club for the use of their facilities and for providing refreshments to all present. Thanks to the many volunteers who helped with the smooth running of the competition.
