The second weekend of the Woodie's DIY National Juvenile Indoor Championships took place last weekend in Nenagh, with five athletes from Westport travelling to the competition.

In the 200m both Cathy McKenna and Diarmuid McGreal put in fine performances in the U19 girls and U17 boys respectively.  Niamh McLoughlin was just shy of a medal coming fourth in the U17 girls Shot Putt with a fine throw of 10.14m

Matthew O'Malley represented the club in the U15 boys 1000m walk but the performance of the day must go to Ashling Heneghan coming third in the U18 girls 1500m walk in an excellent time of 7.59.17.

Well done to all these athletes.  The Mayo Outdoor Championships will be held in Claremorris on Sunday May 13th.
