ASHLING HENEGHAN WINS ALL IRELAND BRONZE

Westport Juveniles athletes travelled to the All Ireland Indoor Track and Field Championship which was held recently in the new international indoor athletics arena at Athlone IT. This was a very high standard event where only the top three finishers in the recently held provincial indoors championship qualified to compete. The top juvenile athletes from the four provinces of Ireland competed against each other over the two days of the event and Westport athletes put in some great performance...

Aoife O'Brien winner of the Connaught secondary schools minor girls cross country

Representing the Sacred Heart School, Westport. Aoife went on to win a 6th place medal in the All-Irelands.

WESTPORT AC SUCCESS AT CONNAUGHT INDOOR CHAMPIONSHIPS

On Sunday March 3rd, 36 juvenile athletes from Westport AC travelled to the brand new international-class sports arena in Athlone, where they competed in the Connaught Indoor Championships.

The first event of the day was the U12 4x100m Girls Relay, where our team of Saoirse O'Brien, Tara Needham, Brianna Bruton, Annie noonan and Ella Staunton ran a fantastic race storming home in second place in a time of 1:02.2.
