C & C Cellular Mayo Uneven Ages, Intermediate & Junior Cross Country Championships.

The C & C Cellular Mayo Uneven Ages, Intermediate & Junior Cross Country
Championships were held in Swinford at the weekend.  Over three hundred
athletes from all over the county competed on the day.  Weather conditions
were ideal with some October sunshine making the day more enjoyable.  A
special thanks to the officials of Swinford Athletic Club for the all their
help on the day and to the parents who provided all with teas, sandwiches

Directions to Cross Country Saturday 20th October

County Mayo uneven cross country competition takes place on Saturday 20th October at the farm of Billy McCann in Kinaffe.Firstly I would ask you all to respect the property of the McCann family, leave no litter and follow stewards instructions.

Kinaffe is on the southern side of the N5, the opposite side to Swinford Town and just 4 km on the right in the Dublin direction from Bohola. Or 3 km on the left from the Kiltimagh junction heading towards Westport. There will be signs on the major junc...

17 MEDALS FOR WESTPORT AC AT CONNAUGHT PRIMARY SCHOOLS AND SENIOR NOVICE AND MASTERS CROSS COUNTRY CHAMPIONSHIPS

The Connaught Primary Schools Cross Country Championships were held last Saturday in Calry in Sligo and Westport AC athletes brought home an impressive 11 medals for their schools.  Due to the recent wet weather, conditions were really tough for all athletes.

A Sprint & Hurdles workshop with nationally renowned coaches Paddy Fay & Brian Corcoran will be held in Claremorris AC on Saturday 13th & Sunday 14th October.  This is an excellent opportunity for coaches and athletes to upskill in the company of experienced and accomplished coaches.

Large crowd at C & C Cellular Mayo Even Ages, Senior, Junior & Novice Cross Country Championships.

Ballina Athletic Club hosted the C & C Cellular Mayo Even Ages, Senior,
Junior & Novice Cross Country Championships in beautiful Belleek on
Sunday.  Weather conditions were ideal with the sun shining throughout the
day.  A large number of athletes for all over the county converged on
Belleek for the day.  Thanks to all who ensured that the day went without a
hitch and a special thanks to all the parents and committee who supplied

CIAN MCMANAMON WINS NATIONAL 20K WALK

The Woodie's DIY National 20K Walk Championships took place last Saturday 29th of September in Raheny, Dublin.  This championship offered the next generation of Irish race walkers a chance to showcase their abilities.  Cian McManamon from Westport AC won the title in a time of 1.37.37 - a fantastic achievement.  This young upcoming athlete is one to watch.
